St. Services Updates

September 16, 2016:

  • Grade 12 students interested in applying for the Loran Scholarship can apply at- apply.loranscholar.ca If you are interested in being sponsored by SCA, you must speak to Mrs. MacLeod by October 3, 2016.
  • Grade 12 students who applied at the NSCC last year must have in progress transcripts submitted to NSCC by the end of September. They can be faxed from the office if requested.
  • Grade 11 students who are interested in applying to the NSCC are now eligible. Applications can be found online or in Students Services.
  • A representative from NSCC will be presenting to all interested students at SCA on October 6, 2016. He will also stay after the presentation and meet with individual students. Sign up sheets are on the Student Services door.

October 2, 2016:

  • Dalhousie University Open House for Halifax Campus October 22, and Truro Campus October 23.
  • Mount Saint Vincent University Open Campus Day is Nov. 10
  • University of New Brunswick Open House for Fredericton campus is October 15, Saint John Campus is October 22.
  • Saint Mary's University Open House for Arts programs October 28, Business programs November 19, and Science programs November 24.
  • Acadia University Open House October 21 and November 4
  • Grade 11 and 12 students interested in attending the NSCC are reminded to sign up for the presentation at SCA on Thursday, October 6. Please sign up in Student Services
  • Mount Allison University Open House, October 14 9-3:45pm. Register at mta.ca/openhouse

March 7, 2017

  • We are very excited to introduce two new members to the Student Services team. Nicole Gatto, Public Health Nurse, will be at SCA Monday and Tuesday on a weekly basis. She is available to students through appointments and walk-ins. Caroline Jeppesen, family interventionist/ social worker, will be at SCA Thursdays on a weekly basis.
  • Credit checks for graduates have been complete after semester one and a potential grad list has been created. It is important for all potential graduates to check the grad list to ensure they are on the list and their name is spelled correctly. The list is in the main office.
  • Graduates planning on attending university/college in the Fall should be checking Student Services regularly for scholarship/ bursary opportunities.
  • Application for NSCC scholarships and bursaries is now available on line at nscc.ca/awards
  • Students ages 15-17 interested in attending the NS Legion Leadership Training Camp are encouraged to pick up an application in Student Services.
  • MADD presentation will take place Wednesday, April 5th, at 9:30am.
  • Mike Duggan (NSCC Recruiter) will be presenting to our students in grades 10 and 11 on Wednesday, April 5th at 10:00am. Parents/ guardians are welcome.
  • Mount St. Vincent University recruiter will be meeting with students Friday, March 10, 2017.
